Description
Rose des Cisterciens Delbard, 1998
The variety was named in honour of the 900th anniversary of the founding of Cîteaux Abbey.
The flowers are large, double, with delicate pale yellow and deep pink shading, and serrated petals.
The shrub is tall, more than 100 cm high.
The flowers are fragrant with notes of citrus, roses and fruit.
In my view, this magnificent variety, with its beautiful, fragrant flowers in such variegated colours, can symbolise the colourful spirit of celebrations around the world and the joy of life itself.
The flower colour combination reminds me of the variety Calude Monet, but these blooms appear fuller and fluffier thanks to the distinctly separated petal edges.
