Tantau Germany, 1964

Mainzer Fastnacht, under various names, is perhaps one of the most famous and widely grown lilac roses.

Many will call it the best.

The flowers open slowly from large, elegant buds and are beautiful even when fully open.

They usually appear singly on long, strong stems, making them suitable for cutting and long-lasting in water.

The plant is vigorous and healthy.
