Nina Weibull

Nina Weibull Poulsen, Denmark, 1962

More than 40 years after its introduction, Nina Weibull remains one of the most popular red floribundas in Scandinavia.

Widely grown from Finland to Iceland, it is rightly valued for its winter hardiness and disease resistance.

In North America it is practically unknown, even in cold regions.

The flowers are bright, dark red and do not fade.

They usually appear in clusters of 3–10 blooms, sometimes in large sprays of up to 30 blooms.

Resistant to rain, it flowers almost continuously until the first frosts.

The foliage is dark and glossy, the shoots are covered with large thorns, and the bush is large and branching.

It never grows too tall, so it is suitable for mass plantings: the whole plant flowers at one height.

An excellent rose for the garden.
