Marie Curie

Marie Curie Meilland France, 1996

Marie Curie forms a bushy shrub that is wider than it is tall and blooms almost continuously, so it is best regarded as a shrub or ground cover rose.

The flowers are beautiful and unusually shaped, with wavy petals and pointed petal tips.

Cherry-pink buds open to reveal pink outer petals and an apricot-coloured centre.

Then the apricot colour turns creamy, while the outer petals remain pink.

The play of shades in the flower looks very attractive both up close and en masse.

The flowers appear in clusters of 5–15, the foliage is large, glossy and healthy.

The plant is compact, suitable both for borders and for informal landscape plantings.
