Europeana

Europeana De Ruiter, Belgium, 1963

Many years after its introduction, Europeana remains an outstanding rose.

It is hard to compare these large clusters of vivid crimson-purple flowers, set off by young reddish-green foliage.

The colour is enhanced when planted with white variegated roses or silver-leaved perennials.

Individual flowers are quite small, but appear in great numbers, in large clusters of 10–30 blooms.

They are rosette-shaped and remain on the plant for a long time without dropping.

The shrub comes into bloom quickly, and the flowers do not fade or turn brown in the sun, which is why Europeana is widely grown in hot countries.

The foliage is dark green and glossy; the variety is vigorous and disease-resistant.
