Description

Tantau, 1987

Bernstein is German for amber, which best describes the colour of this splendid, low-growing floribunda.

The flowers are at their most attractive when they first open, revealing a ruffled centre in the style of an English rose.

The flowers appear in clusters of 3–7, and the rose blooms very profusely throughout the season.

It withstands rain well; the bush is compact and frost-hardy.

German nurseries sometimes describe Bernstein Rose as a more compact and more frost-hardy version of Amber Queen.

The leaves are glossy, dark green, look very good with the flowers, and are usually very disease-resistant.
