Salita

Salita Kordes Germany, 1987

Salita is a beautiful climbing rose with bright colours that is so popular in Germany. The flowers are vivid, with a coral tint—an unusual combination of red and orange that fades to deep pink. When sunlight shines through them, the flowers glow. Each flower is formed like a hybrid tea rose. They appear singly or in neat clusters of up to 5 on long, strong shoots. The foliage is large, glossy and disease-resistant, with raspberry-coloured new growth. It does not grow very quickly in height, and in Germany it is sometimes used as a shrub, but in a hot climate it is a vigorous rose. It is especially good on a pillar, because the flowers appear at different levels of the bush, not only at the top.
