John Davis

John Davis Svejda, 1986

John Davis has attractive old-fashioned flowers. Sometimes they are quartered, but usually they open to reveal golden stamens at the centre. They start out bright pink, then become pale pink with a creamy base to the petals. The flowers appear in clusters of 10–15 and bloom continuously until frost. The shrub is dense and thorny. John Davis has short internodes and a naturally flexible growth habit, which makes it a good rambler in cool climates. It requires virtually no pruning.
