Hydrangea paniculata Hercules
New in 2019. The sterile flowers are borne in conical flower clusters at the tips of the shoots.
The flower clusters are very large, up to 40 cm long, lemon-green, snow-white at full bloom with willow-green tips, turning pink in late summer.
The shrub is large, reaching 1.5 m in height and width.
The stems are strong and upright.
The leaves are dark green, ovate, coarsely hairy on both sides.
Blooming begins in July and continues until September.
After flowering, the blooms dry out, remaining as an ornament on the shrub throughout autumn and winter.
The shrub is easy to grow and undemanding.
It is recommended to plant in slightly acidic, moderately fertile soil, in a moist and well-drained sunny or partially shaded location.
Fully frost-hardy, resistant to diseases and pests.
Recommended for planting singly and in groups in home and country gardens, as well as for growing in large containers.
The flowers are ideal for bouquets and dried arrangements.
