Description

Hydrangea paniculata Fraise Melba

is an improved variety of Hydrangea paniculata Vanilla Fraise.

The shrub is upright, up to 200 cm high and up to 150 cm wide. The shoots are strong, rigid, upright, unbranched, coloured a vivid dark burgundy with a brown tint, and withstand rain well.

The leaves are dark green and held on very ярко coral-red stems.

This variety is characterised by a huge, dense flower cluster 25 cm in diameter, pyramidal in shape, 30–40 cm long, which with good care reaches 45–55 cm in length.

The flowers are sterile and arranged throughout the cone in a dense cascade.

At first milky white, then they take on soft pink shades, and by the end of flowering they develop a rich wine-red colour.

The colour shades may vary depending on the location, climate and soil type.

It flowers in the second half of July–August and blooms for a long time, until frost.

Large flower clusters are obtained only with short annual spring pruning.

Plant in a sunny or partially shaded place with well-drained, moist soil.
