Innocent Glance

'Innocent Glance' is a climber that can reach 1.5 to 2.0 metres in height. It grows very bushy and compact. The main flowering season is from May to June. The first flowers, which open in May, are double. But soon the plant also bears semi-double and single flowers. Flowering continues without interruption until August. The sharply ovate flower buds are held upright. First, the outer ring of tepals opens, while the inner rings still resemble a pompon. They then open into a semi-spherical dome, which later flattens. Stamens and pistils are visible, so the flowers are visited by pollinators. The flower colour is pink, deeper along the edges of the tepals. The midrib and pointed tips are often green. In cool weather and in shady places, the colouring is more intense.
